Race Details
Lehigh Classic Race Details:
- Starting line: Immediately below the Tannery Road bridge
- Finish line: Race Rock below Second Chance rapid
- Start time: 1 pm
- 5.5 miles of class II-II+ rapids
- Mass start for each class, classes determined based on entrants
- Check-in to get your race number at Rockport between 10am-11:30am
- Awards Ceremony at the Whitewater Challengers campground (Lehigh RiverFest)
- Pre-registration is strongly encouraged
Participant fees are $10 per person. You must fill out a waiver online with the American Canoe Association before the event. If you are not an ACA member, you will need to pay an additional $10 for your event insurance when you complete the waiver process. Please select “Lehigh Classic” on the dropdown menu when you complete your waiver online.

Whitewater releases are provided throughout the summer on the Lehigh River through Lehigh Gorge State Park, Pennsylvania. Click here to view the whitewater release schedule, and follow the Francis E. Walter dam on Facebook for daily updates on Lehigh River flows. This event is being organized under a special use permit from Lehigh Gorge State Park. Participants and spectators must abide by all park rules & regulations at all times, which include a prohibition on alcohol.
